My qualifications are:

Edexcel Level 5 BTEC Professional Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (South Downs College).
NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills and Theory (South Downs College).
First Steps in Counselling Skills (Portsmouth College).



Accredited Counsellor for pregnancy and infant loss with The Foundation for Infant Loss Training 2018

Various and specialised training specific to the organisations I have been an associate Counsellor with.

Numerous workshops and CPD events to continue my professional and personal development.

I attend regular monthly supervision in accordance with the BACP's guidelines and am fully insured and DBs checked yearly.


Experience:

2003 - 2008
Volunteer Bereavement Counsellor with Havant Bereavement Care Group, now known as The Bereavement Counselling Charity who provide home visits to people who have been bereaved and find that they are struggling with their loss. They also run a service for children and young people.

2003
The Alzheimers Society counselling people who are carers for relatives of those suffering with Dementia and Alzheimers.

2009 to 2012
Associate Counsellor with Portsmouth Abuse and Rape Counselling Service (PARCS). PARCS provide specialised counselling for men and women of all ages that have suffered sexual abuse as a child or adult and also for those that have or are experiencing Domestic Violence. They also provide a young person's service and undertake outreach work with young people in schools.

2012 - present
Counsellor in private practice.

20015 - 2017
Voluntary Bereavement Counsellor at The Rowans Hospice. During my time there, I gained experience in supporting not only the bereaved but clients with life limiting illness and clients who had a relative or friend that were living with life limiting illness or dying.

July 2018 to September 2020
Counesllor with Aquilis Counselling Service.
Providing free counselling to staff funded by Portsmouth Health Trust at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth including April 2019 - December 2019 at Portsmouth Enablement Centre counselling people who have had an amputation.


October 2019 to present
Providing short-term counselling through an EAP service to staff from local Special Education Schools in Portsmouth.
